Ghost Town

We found the cutest "Old West" ghost town on the way up Suspicion Mountain.  Perfect stop for exploring the remade gold mine town of Goldfield.  

                                      

         

Back in the 1890′s Goldfield boasted 3 saloons, a boarding house, general store, blacksmith shop, brewery, meat market and a school house. Just when it looked like the town would outgrow Mesa, the vein faulted, the grade of ore dropped and the town died a slow painful death.

Today there is a very tense game of checkers outside of the jail.  When Tyler wins, the gunslinger accuses him of cheating and we make a quick escape to the Ice Cream parlor and miss all the shooting.

Fun, fun day and Grandpa makes sure that the little Cowgirl gets her hat.
